Styling & Furnishing

Available stand-alone or as part of larger projects, our tailored interior styling/furnishing service allows you to refresh your space and see it in a new light. 

If you’re feeling unsure of what you want or need help to visualise the final look, we can map out the space via 3D modeling software SketchUp. 

Finally, we’ll source high-quality, or even custom-made, furnishings and upholstery from our network of trusted local suppliers.

Colour Consultations

Colour is the magic that can truly transform your home; brightening, softening, modernising or completely refreshing your interior or exterior with the perfect colour scheme to enhance your home.

Whether you prefer vibrant or soft, subtle shades, we’ll help you put together the perfect palette.

Our colour consultations are available for interior and exterior spaces, both alone or as the crucial first step in a larger design project.

Project Facilitation & Management

Whether your preference is to be “hands-on” or let us handle everything, Whitney Co. can personalise the interior design process to suit you.

We’ll take you from initial idea to liaising with contractors, all the way through to finishing touches.

Our Process

01.

DISCOVERY

Discovery is first in our interior design process. 

This stage is all about getting to know you! We’ll discuss your personal style, vision for the space, and any design preferences or tastes.

If you’re not sure what you’re after, that’s okay! We know how to ask the right questions to reveal a client’s inner style.

Initial concepts, colour schemes and style direction will be determined in this stage.

02.

PLANNING

So, you’ve decided on your style and colour scheme… Now, we plan.

In the second stage, we’ll conduct in-depth research and planning. This helps us to discover and source the high quality pieces needed to transform your space. 

This stage is collaborative — you’ll be involved in each stage of research, recommendations and selections. 

We’ll also handle details such as site visits, measurements, creating visual mockups, and visiting suppliers/showrooms.

Once final decisions are made, we’ll source selected items from our network of trusted local suppliers.

03.

EXECUTION

This is when the magic happens!

Once your interior design plan is fully realised, we’ll oversee each step of execution.

This stage involves organising supply of finishes and materials, liaising with suppliers and contractors, and monitoring ongoing work.

Finally, we complete setup and finishing touches to the space. 

After completion, we’ll provide a follow up and aftercare service tailored to your project.

We want you to feel totally comfortable during the interior design process — whether your vision is crystal clear or you’re still figuring out what you want, it’s important to trust the professionals working with you every step of the way. Our founder Julie brings multi-faceted skills from her past work to ensure that every project is viewed with fresh eyes and a creative perspective. No two clients are alike, and no two designs should be alike either!
Yes, absolutely! At Whitney Co., we know the right questions to ask to reveal a client’s inner style. During our “discovery” phase, we’ll help you pinpoint exactly what you do and don’t like. We’ll present you with some initial concepts of colours, styles and furniture that we think might fit — you can then give feedback on your preferences, likes and dislikes. We’ll use this information to further build your “style profile”, until we know exactly how your ideal space should look.
The short answer is, it depends entirely on what you want – so we’ll work together to create a budget that suits. At our initial meeting, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for. Using this information, we’ll then build you a custom quote that reflects the complexity and scope of your project, as well as our hourly consulting rate. Then it’s up to you to choose what you would like to invest in.
If you’re feeling like it’s hard to visualise how you want your space or home to look, don’t worry — this is completely normal. In our discovery meetings, we’ll help you determine what styles, colours, furniture and other design elements you like. In the planning phase, we can give you an even clearer picture. To help you visualise the look and layout of your potential space, we use 3D design software to create a mockup. This will help you judge the balance of rooms, see colour pairings and feel more secure in how your final project will come together.
This depends on the scope of your project. We can help with small to large scale designs, from styling a room to completely redesigning an entire home including painting, furniture, fittings and more. In the initial discovery phase, we’ll discuss what you’re looking for and provide an estimate of timing as well as a customised quote.
We can be as involved as you would like. We are absolutely able to organise and liaise with contractors, suppliers, tradespeople, etc. We can source quotes, consult on requirements, oversee work completion and follow up on any issues. (This has been especially helpful for our clients that are based interstate or overseas). For clients that prefer to source or liaise with contractors themselves, we are happy to provide guidance and consultation throughout the project.
